Niner Esports is the official esports and gaming community at UNC Charlotte, built by students and for students. We exist to bring together everyone who loves gaming whether you’re a competitive player chasing championships, a casual gamer looking for new friends, or someone who just wants to be part of the culture.

We compete across a wide range of titles including Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League, Call of Duty, Overwatch, Super Smash Bros., Rainbow Six Siege, and more. Our teams represent UNC Charlotte in collegiate leagues and tournaments, giving students the chance to experience structured competitive play while building teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.

But Niner Esports is more than just competition. We’re also about community. Throughout the year, we host LAN parties, community game nights, watch parties for major esports events, and social gatherings where students can hang out, try new games, and connect with others who share the same passion. Whether it’s a huge Union LAN Party or a casual Among Us night, there’s always something going on.

We also work to support the broader gaming ecosystem at UNC Charlotte. Our officers and coordinators collaborate with other student organizations, local esports groups, and national partners like Red Bull and Gen.G to provide unique opportunities and resources for our members. These partnerships allow us to host bigger events, provide prizes, and connect students to the wider esports scene beyond campus.
